About the Organisation of the Month: Women’s Health Grampians

Established in 1991, Women’s Health Grampians (WHG) is one of 11 women’s health services operating in Victoria, funded primarily by the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services. We cover 11 local government areas across the Grampians region. WHG aims to drive and support systemic change that will impact positively on the lives of women in the Grampians region. WHG has two priority areas: sexual and reproductive health and the prevention of violence against women, with the overarching goal of gender equality.

In May 2016, WHG in collaboration with 26 organisations across the Grampians region, launched the Communities of Equality and Respect (CoRE) Regional Plan for Prevention of Violence. The CoRE Plan outlines a vision for a safe, equal and respectful society for everyone and we invite all organisations, clubs and networks in the region to join the CoRE Alliance and work together, towards that vision. There is a role for everyone to contribute to our collective efforts for change.

We want to encourage all businesses, clubs and networks in the region to become a member of the Communities of Respect and Equality (CoRE) Alliance. You can access the CoRE Plan and membership form from the Women’s Health Grampians website whg.org.au.
