OCTOBER CHALLENGE – MULTIPLE EXPOSURE

Our challenge this month is inspired by World Mental Health Day and Mental Health Week, both with fall in October. I was thinking a lot about how to visually show the range of emotions that we all go through and highlight everyone’s own challenges, often of which most people around us don’t know we are struggling with. We have many different faces we put on for the world around us. To create just one image to capture that is a challenge in itself. So I thought I great technique I could share with you all is multiple exposure. You all know I’m a stickler for doing as much as possible in camera because the less time I spend at the computer the better! So here it is:

THE CHALLENGE BRIEF

This challenge asks you to do your best to capture an image that raises awareness of mental health. You can get your own creativity on and to this any way you like! Our challenge tutorial this month will be teaching you how to capture multiple images in one frame, using a speedlite off camera flash unit. If you don’t have one and still want to try this challenge, apply the principles by trying the same thing with a torch. It’s all about giving it a go, for a good cause.

Don’t forget to share them on social media and use the hashtag #withcamerainhand and #wcihchallenge and we’ll celebrate you by sharing them too!
